Our Story

Barn8 began with the barn itself. Built into a former horse barn at Hermitage Farm, the restaurant still carries the character of its original purpose, with dining tables tucked into former horse stalls and details that speak to the building’s history. Today, it is where the story of the farm continues around the table.

Our Farm-to-Table Philosophy

For us, farm-to-table starts with knowing where an ingredient comes from and the people responsible for growing it. Our menus change with the seasons, drawing from what is grown from farmers and producers throughout Kentucky and the surrounding region. The result is food rooted in the land around us rather than any particular trend.

The Experience

Dinner at Barn8 begins before you reach the table. It starts with the drive through the farm, past black plank fences and thoroughbreds grazing in the fields. Inside, the welcome is warm, the food follows the season, and there is always a Kentucky story behind what is growing in the garden or poured into your glass.

Visit Us

Barn8 is part of a working Kentucky farm, and we hope you make time to experience more than the restaurant while you’re here. Walk the grounds, linger near the pastures, or step outside after dinner as the sun settles over the Bluegrass. Just beyond the table are the horses, gardens, history, and rolling fields that give Barn8 its sense of place.
